Access all the information you need. On demand. Data Access using
PeerVision
PeerVision is an easy to use operational search framework. It allows
users to search, in real-time, multiple data sources such as
relational databases, intranet web sites, document repositories and
other data sources installed throughout the organisation.
PeerVision is much more than
just a Data Warehouse tool. PeerVision is a complete solution
combining ETL, Data cleansing, data warehouse facilities, and
real-time access to corporate information.
![]() Database-independent
PeerVision comes with its own optional data
warehouse which makes it easy to store data from various sources.
However, PeerVision can simultaneously search alternate structured
and unstructured data sources such as QAS, GIS, LDAP, web sites,
document stores, Google, etc. This can be achieved because
PeerVision uses plug-in search adaptors that are capable of
searching a particular repository and returning the results in a
schema-independent, common format. This means you don’t have to load
up a data warehouse before you can search for data giving you
real-time access to your data. PeerVision
Schema-independence
The
software uses a technique for transmitting search results across a
network in a schema-independent fashion, a generic query protocol.
PeerVision is not hard-coded to any particular type or structure of
database or warehouse. A key benefit of this technique is that the
underlying database structure can alter as database revisions take
place but PeerVision does not have to alter with it.
Data Identity, Cleansing
and Linking
Identifying
duplicate records within the same database is vital for smooth and
efficient operations. Our identity, cleansing and linking module
will let you identify duplicates and similar records and suggest
cleansing actions that should be taken. The output of this module
can also be used to link together records in completely separated
databases. Security
A
spin-off from the schema-independence techniques means that
search results also contain information about how to
display the
information. Administrators can set up multiple presentations of
a single record, For example, you may want to set up both an
unrestricted and restricted view of a record. PeerVision can
then be configured to select the appropriate view depending on
various factors. These factors could include rules such as a)
who is asking for the data, b) where is the request coming from
c) markers and flags in the record itself. This capability means
that you get to keep control over the look and feel of your
records and at the same time you’re able to control who sees
what. PeerVision also comes with its own forms designer that
lets you create your own views and search templates. Open technologyExtent Software strive to produce easy to use applications that are as open as possible to the customer. Because we ensure database schema independence, no data forms are hard-coded within are application. All search, data entry, summary and details forms can be created and modified by you. 3rd Party applications can start PeerVision searches simply by copying text to the clipboard! PeerVision SummaryPeerVision is specifically designed to solve the data sharing issues. Its unique architecture and design provides a corporate solution to a corporate problem.
